Thankfully, mostly in regards to this list and IRC help, Gentoo is now working to my liking. I'd like to keep working on my own development projects again. I just want to know what I should set the --prefix and --sysconfdir to in a gentoo system. It seems there is a method in teh FAQ to compile your own projects using ebuild, I however would just like to work right off of cvs and not have to go through ebuild. On debian and redhat, I always used --prefix=/usr and --sysconfdir=/etc Is it the same for gentoo? Thanks in advance. --Matt
