Hi List, I tried to install Gentoo Linux 1.4. Everything worked fine. I installed the vanilla-sources-kernel. After rebooting I observed the following problem: The kernel-version I compiled and installed is 2.4.19. Yes, I'm sure, because "strings /boot/vmlinuz" returns 2.4.19 and also /usr/src/linux points to /usr/src/linux-2.4.19. But uname -s returns version 2.4.18-4GB. Now modprobe can't find the modules because it searches in /lib/modules/2.4.18-GB, but the modules are in /lib/modules/2.4.19. Does anybody have an idea?
