PROBLEM LOGGING INTO GNOME

Hi everyone,

I have installed Gentoo 1.4-rc1 successfully along with X and GNOME. And , =
I have setup my system to display GDM automatically on boot up. However, =
when I try to login both as root as well as normal user, the GNOME splash=
 screen appears and then after a few seconds, it comes back to GDM again.=
... It does not login properly to GNOME. 

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?
