clock

I have /etc/localtime symlinked to /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Eastern.  The
clock in all of my applications does not seem to recognize this.  I have
also changed clock="UTC" to clock="local" in /etc/rc.conf.  When I
change that, and then restart my system, there is no difference, the
same time keeps on appearing.  After last night when you were supposed
to adjust for daylight savings time, the clock is actually off in terms
of minutes too.  The clock is now off by -40 or +20 minutes in the
addition to the hour being wrong.  My question is, are /etc/localtime
and /etc/rc.conf the only things that would contribute to this problem,
or is there some other step that I am missing.  Do I need to modify some
other config file in order for my system to recognize those files??
