Startup init

Hi all,

I have two questions;

1) Is there a log or similar for the initial init output (when booting)?=20
Sometimes I get red xclamation marks and it just rushes by - I have no ti=
me=20
to readout what is wrong...

2) How can I adjust portage to pull ebuilds from a specific server? I'd l=
ike=20
to edit the list (if there is one?) to contain a few local sites rather t=
han=20
every one available.

Iv'e tried to find this in archives as well as on the web, but informatio=
n is=20
hard to find... Hope someone here has a clue!
