Re: Linux installed from 2005.1 disk does not start

you need to enable support for IDE/ATA controller from apple under 
Device Drivers->  ATA. there should be options based on Macintosh or 
Apple:
IDE/ATA Disk support
IDE/ATA Driver
Mac Partition Support
