Hello fellow developers, Bill Buck of Genesi S.á.r.l. (the company that donated 10+ PowerPC boxes to Gentoo developers recently) has asked me to ask you to take the developer survey available at this location: http://www.ppczone.org/modules/banners/click.php?op=click&bid=3 The survey is being conducted by Freescale Semiconductor (former Motorola Semiconductor), the designer of the PowerPC processor. Genesi has done a lot of legwork to increase Freescale's interest in Linux recently. Previously Freescale only showed a mild interest in Linux but Genesi has convinced them that there is a future for Linux, not only on servers and embedded systems but in other kinds of applications as well. They have already invested a large amount of money, for instance by donating 100+ PowerPC boxes to different projects (including Gentoo). If we show them that a lot of people use Linux on PowerPC desktop boxes, and other solutions, hopefully they will invest even more money in the future. //David Holm
