2004.3 livecd problem

Hi, downloaded the install universal livecd. I seem to have a problem as the boot hangs while loading the kernel. I can just see few printk and then it is like the video card and the display are being put to sleep. This happens in very early boot stage, at openpic kernel messages. Tried booting appending video=offb, but that does not help. The machine is a Quicksilver G4, 867 Mhz, nvidia graphics (geforce 2). Any hints?
