Deutsche Man-Pages und utf-8

Hallo an die Gentoo-User,

man sollte es ja eigentlich nicht tun, sein Linux einzudeutschen.
Wenn es angeboten wird, sollte es jedoch funktionieren.
Mit utf-8 bekomme ich in den Manpages keine Umlaute.
USE ist auf utf-8 gestellt.
Was für Infos sind noch von Interesse, um das Problem einzugrenzen oder
geht es anderen auch so?
