Hai Rivo, Saya dulu juga mengalami hal yang sama, yaitu tidak mau update / compile, padahal source nya sudah tersedia di tempatnya. Saya juga tidak mengerti apa penyebabnya. Cara saya, adalah menghapus file-file yang dikatakan exist di /usr/portage/distfiles dan membiarkannya mendownload ulang. Tetapi saya pikir ini tentunya sangat mengganggu, baik waktu maupun kantong. Jadi saya putuskan install ulang....:-) tidak patut ditiru. Cobalah emerge sync lagi, mungkin portagenya masih belum terupdate sepenuhnya.
