It's sad not so many software can handle that; some browsers like Lynx
and SeaMonkey Navigator can handle news: URLs.

(Does or did Konqueror support such URLs too? I seem to recall it used
to support a bunch of stuff back in KDE3 days.)

Oh, yes, I should have added a web URL too. I'd normally go with DMARC,
but if that approach can be used with Gentoo's own archive, that's
great!

(And yes, you've written a few messages about the current binpkgs system
that I either saved or copied IDs for reference, thanks!)
