Since no-one else has responded, and since i'm interested in the 
situation myself:

There's this issue in the X11Libre/xserver repo:

  https://github.com/X11Libre/xserver/issues/202

where the most recent additions to that issue mention commits 
being made to X11Libre to add seatd support, e.g.:

  https://github.com/X11Libre/ports-gentoo/pull/102
