Indeed. And with Git 3.0 slated to make Rust required, there's also
ongoing conversation about Rust for platforms that aren't currently
supported (I think at least 2 parallel efforts are underway to have
Rust compilers for the relevant platforms). So portability of Rust
builds is expected to increase in the near-ish future.
