Howdy,

I just synced the tree, without a error this time, and there is lots of 
ruby packages being updated.  This time emerge found a clean upgrade 
path.  It seems that whatever fixes you have done has worked nicely.

Thanks again for the reply.  At least I knew it wasn't something I did 
on this.
