There's now a patch available in the bug for the latest keepassxc 
ebuild. The patch was taken from the ChiPass project repository.

The patch was also a mentioned in the keepassxc project 
(https://github.com/keepassxreboot/keepassxc/issues/7774#issuecomment-4405497146), 
let's hope they pull it in the main repo.
