OK, good result. :-) I should have mentioned tread carefully in this directory, because you could end up with a MoBo failing to POST! Some of the variables in there are meant to be immutable, as lsattr will show. The boot list entries are not immutable, but I would only touch these with the efibootmgr command just to be safe. I recall efivars being mounted read-only a few years ago, to prevent users and scripts running loose in it and causing bricked systems.
