Unfortunately, I don't have drac access.
But I'll try changing some other setting with omconfig (I'll change 'leds' setting) and see if it allows me change biossetup parameters.

I got the error running "omreport chassis biossetup" - I do in fact modify fan settings with omconfig, and it was modified in the past, and appeared to be working normally but after powering on this server last week, I received the same error you mentioned.

I had issued a racadm config reset command to try and return to defaults - it executed properly but did not clear the error from omreport. I corrected it manually (accidentally) by powering up the drac console window, entering BIOS, and modifying the aforementioned fan settings that I cleared to default. Once the server booted again, it cleared the error condition and I was able to query the system via omreport.

You don't need to be physically in front of the server, as long as you do have remote drac console redirection - hopefully you have that access/license.

Lets see if I understood you correctly. You had XPath error when trying to modify fan speed using omconfig, so you first manually set some idrac configuration, rebooted server and after that was able to use omconfig to modify fan speed. Did I get you correctly?
If by 'manually' you mean you were physically in front of the server, then it may not work for me because I can only do things remotely. I will use your advise and try to change some other setting remotely using omconfig, then will reboot and see if I can change biossetup afterwards.

I'm not sure what causes this issue, but having run into it last week, I was able to work around it by manually changing some settings in BIOS. Specifically I was modifying fan speed settings and I manually set the configuration to max offset via console. (idrac -> Thermal) After booting that omreport command worked normally again.

My guess would be that changing any setting may fix it. Give that a shot. I do hope Dell resolves these bugs, there are appear to be a number of them with their recent hardware/software combos.

I have Dell PowerEdge R620 running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 with BIOS version 2.4.3 and Open Manage 7.0
When I run 'omreport chassis biossetup', it gives me:

XPath error : Invalid type
xmlXPathCompiledEval: 1 objects left on the stack.

I see a few posts from others about the same issue, but no solutions. Can somebody help with how to fix the above problem?
