Re: using PERC H700 for JBOD?

You can definitely create a bunch of raid0 using single drives. However,
this is not going to give the host kernel and it's modules (ZFS etc) direct
access to the disks and isn't really JBOD. You are still going through the
controller, using the controller cache.

This is not a great solution for ZFS, and it has been mentioned as such too
many times over the years.

I wish Dell finally came through with a real JBOD mode in those PERCs, but
afaik it's still low priority for them.
