Do you have the usb-storage kernel module disabled or uninstalled? DSU (and OMSA) up to v8.3 require this kernel module. Found this out after a couple of weeks of troubleshooting with Dell. Booting on Lyfecycle and searching for new firmwares don't find anything to upgrade. Searching on Dell Support web site for my Service Tag found only 2.21.21.21 version of iDrac.
