You need to get the proper libraries to make it work and as of now, nothing has been compiled for supporting Ubuntu 16.x. If libraries are not proper, it’ll fail in many cases.
Lower version might work for Ubuntu 16.x, but again there is no guarantee.

Thanks for your reply.

I understand that that the best way is waiting for the release of OM8.4. However, I still want to make it work temporarily so that I can use it before OM8.4 come out.

I have tried https://kernelpanik.net/dell-omsa-7-4-on-ubuntu-16-04/. But it doesn't work for me. Do you have any idea that I can somehow install it using other ways, such as compile it by my self?

 UBUNTU 16.x deb packages have not been compiled yet. It should be available from OM8.4.

It’s not recommended to use lower version of OMSA on Ubuntu 16.x as it hasn’t been tried and tested. So, if you use lower version of OMSA on Ubuntu 16.x, it might or might not work. There is no guarantee on the same.

Hi all,

I am trying to install OMSA on our server, which uses ubuntu 16.04. However, I didn't find the OMSA support for 16.04.

I am wondering is there a way that I can installed the OMSA for the older version of ubuntu on ubuntu 16.04? Or is there a tutorial that somehow I can install the package from scratch?
