Thank you all for your help. I just had to load the appropriate module.. (tnt4882, obtained from https://linux-gpib.sourceforge.io/doc_html/supported-hardware.html). So I ran: modprobe tnt4882 and then the command gpib_config worked fine. Thank you again for your quick helps.
