I have to say, for many things I never went with an extended warranty, for a variety of reasons. However, the past couple of years I've purchased most electronics from Best Buy (DVD, TV, laptop, digital cameras, non-digital cameras, etc.) and I *always* but their extended warranty. This has been good, because I've now replaced; 1 non-digital camera 1 digital camera 1 dryer I don't abuse stuff compared to some of my friends, but things happen. The non-digital camera, in I walked to service, they reviewed it, and their on the spot was exchanged for a new one. Of course this was a year and a half later, so that model was NA. I got the $$$ equivalent and ended up with a new camera, better features for that same year and half stale price. Same with digital camera. Purchased Kodak DX3900 two years back almost. Went south. In I went, they took this one, sent it off, unrepairable (too much to fix for it's current value), and two weeks later I had my $$$ equivalent which gave me a new 6340 plus a 128MB SD card and additional battery, all for same two year old price. So I got a better camera (features) because technology improves (typically) and price decreases (typically). When I purchased my GRX560 I opted for 4 year warranty as well. So far no problems, but I feel comfortable it'll get sorted in my favor, minus the down time of missing in action. Moral? At least look into the extended warranty :) fd __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! http://sbc.yahoo.com
