Hi Ken Thanks for that!!! It works happily on my i830. One of the only two things that keep the evil empire o/s on my laptop fixed! I just tried it ... so this now means I can do powerpoint direct from linux without having to use windows because I dont want to boot with the laptop connected to the projector ... magic ... ... if any one works out how to turn the lcd off for an i830, please let me know, then I can have high resolution on my crt, and I'll be a very happy panda indeed ... (It's not as obvious as one might think that it would have worked: In desperation I tried the commercial xserver from xig.com, and while they say it works on i830, it didn't on mine).
