Does it work if you disable DRI? This might not be the problem, but in my case it was. Xfree86 4.3.0 with DRI enabled exhibits this behaviour on my 7500. The only one I've got to play ball is the DRI CVS trunk from sourceforge, which when I was last able to download it (sourceforge is having some major CVS issues) was based on 4.2.99. Even then the acceleration was patchy, but stable. You also need to upgrade the radeon kernel modules to something above 1.0, or newer versions of X complain about incompatibility. You can either compile the entire DRI trunk and the modules are included in it and you can move then into your kernel module directory, or you can get just the kernel modules source from the DRI project and do the same. dri.sourceforge.net Ryan On Tue, 2003-07-01 at 00:20, PAGANO,PATRICK RALPH wrote: > Hi folks > i would like to update or upgrade my current drivers for my radeon > mobility 7500 in my Vaio pcg560-laptop. > With the current drivers i get seg faults from running SGI > Performer .rpms for Linux (Performer is a 3d viewer application > that uses OpenGL.) > > Can you all give me some tips or instructions on how or if i can > upgrade to the newest drivers so i might solve my problem? > > currently i am running Redhat 7.3
