One thing about this that caught my eye: " The thing is they know it's difficult to > fight huge corporation like Sony or Microsoft if you are just a poor > customer, and if you are ripped off, you'll give up," Take them to small claims court. The company hires an attorney and you just show up with your evidence. If you are well prepaired, you'll win. This technique has worked for my father many times and he isn't a lawyer or anything. Most large companies don't want to spend the resources to hire an attorney, they would rather settle. Small claims is your friend. The truth is that most people don't take the time or effort to take a company to court. I'd still say that your message is sound advice in general. Just don't forget that you can take them to small claims court and you don't need to get a lawyer. Of course, I'm just a UNIX admin that doesn't know anything about such things.
