I believe that the CPU, RAM and HDD have nothing to do with the model
numbers. The computer I ordered was a PCG-GRX700 with 1.8 GHz P4M, 256
MB, 30 GB. The box that arrived was labelled "PCG-GRX7001 B2B". I know
the B2B means Business-2-Business, as I purchased mine not direct
through Sony but through a mail-order place. The rep listed off model
names to me, within the PCG-GRX700 series, where a
PCG-GRX700{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9} was the same thing with a slightly
different CPU/HDD/RAM.

If it helps, here's the lspci -n and lspci output from my GRX700
