And getting ACPI to work using SuSE 8.2 means doing NOTHING
at all, because SuSE properly senses most Sony machines
need ACPI.  This is based on the date of the bios.

8.2 Does not automatically set up to run acpid, as that service
would be enabled by the installer in SySE's Yast Run Level Editor.
You really only need acpid if you want things like the Jogdial to
do anything or to sense Lid Open/Close events.  All other 
power and Interrupt handling features of acpi work even without acpid
running.

Sony and SuSE are a good match at this particular time.
