Pardon my intrusion, but how would you do this in Grub?  I mistakenly
installed Suse 8.2 with the acpi=off paramter passed to the kernel in my
Vaio PGC-NVR23 and now power management doesn't really work.  I am not using
Lilo, but the Grub config file doesn't seem to address this issue anywhere.
