Interesting. I think I just have a touch of dust in my fan.... it's making a weird flappy sound, didn't start doing it until a few weeks ago -- yes I have ACPI... Either that or the fan is starting to die. Sony Support: "We can fix that, but it will take 4-6 weeks." WTF? I had them replace my HD a month ago and it was 1 week turnaround. Anyway..
