That is decidedly bad ju-ju.  I tried flashing devices with BIOS that 
should have worked on several occasions.  Each time, the result was the 
same: Digital Lobotomy.  Plus, I've known other instances where misapplied 
BIOS messed things up similarly.  Only once did I not have to pay for that 
repair, and that was because the vendor posted the wrong BIOS (ie. their 
fault), and that was for a USR Courier modem I used on my BBS over 10 years 
ago.

Even though the peripherals may be the same (video, audio, lan, etc.) there 
are functions that are internal to the motherboard that may be different 
between the models.  This would imply that the filesize remains constant, 
but a byte value differs.

If the flashing app is not be smart enough to note the difference...  So, 
if you do try it, and you lobotomize the machine, you have a better than 
none chance that you won't be able to reinstate the old BIOS image.  Let me 
remind you all that it is Windows junkies that write such code... 'nuff said.
