It still needs some work but is completely usable.

The only thing proprietory about it is the firmware, but this has
nothing to do with the kernel.

I wouldnt buy 802.11b it is much to slow, If you have a lan and you want
to transfer a big file 80kB/sec just doesnt cut it. But if you just use
it for the internet, and your pipe is < 80k I would say 802.11b is ok...
