RH9.093 (Severn) on a PCG-FR700

Looks like I'm late in jumping on the Severn bandwagon, but  I'd like to 
echo similar comments to those of Scott Coppen and others.

This was a relatively smooth install for a beta. Nothing really broke on 
the way through. Had a few issues with the DVD/CDRW which I am hassling 
through but basically everything works. As previously mentioned by 
others, I have added a whole bunch of modprobe lines to rc.local and, 
with acpid, ACPI seems to be working. I am not sure how to monitor what 
it is doing int terms of step downs and fan control etc but I will 
install gkrellm which apparently has a plugin to help things.

With some hassling about with problems between gcc versions for the 
kernel and what has been installed, the new NVidia drivers installed OK 
and the dual screen setup is fantastic. I can run a dual screen 
(2048x768) in the office and then take the laptop home and it 
automatically syncs back to 1024x768 when an external screen is not 
plugged in. The only thing I am having a look at here is what seemed to 
be a system slowdown last night when running on a single screen, but 
this may well have been other things.

Fn button for brightness now works.

There are a couple of things in the system that seem mysterious (couple 
of consistent crashes for the KDE Display Manager applet etc) but I must 
concede that I like what I have seen so far.
