flingin' /home around revisited

Thanks for the elegant and efficient alternatives to
my klunky flailing attempt at moving my /home from
/dev/hd(waytosmall) to /dev/hd(plentybig).  I think I
have kind of gotten to where I should have gotten,
using konquerer and the properties dialog/permissions
tab for all my users (all me of course) in /home. 
Yes, root was user and group for all users, but I was
able to change (as root) user and group for each
account, in the nice graphical interface Konki
provided.  (Oh, PCG-FXA36 running MDK9.1, 2.4.21,
using KDE 3.1.0.)  (And, by luck more than planning, I
had my old /home/* to look at and compare to my new,
mildly buggered /home, and was able to make them look
alike in the dialogs.)  True, had I been administering
a system with beaucoup users, my method would have
been craptacular, and cut way into my nap time.  But I
have learned, and that is the whole reason I am here.

Thanks to Smoot Carl-Mitchell, Ryan, and Jean Delvare
for thier suggestions.  And I'm the kind of guy that
might just throw /home back on /dev/hd(tosmall) and
try all of your suggestions... ;)  What have I got to
lose?  I've still got my install cds (I think...).

Closer to the topics of LSML, I have acpi and acpid
running, and am trying to figure out just what to do
with them, script-wise.  If I hit <CTL><ALT><DEL> I
get a nifty KDE Dragon dude asking me if I want to log
out, reboot, shutdown.  I know there is a way to make
the power button do the same, right?  Actually, I'd
imagine you could trap the powerbutton press event and
have the system play roll_out_the_barrel.wav on xmms. 
(Maybe that would be a good exercise...)
