Is it a kernel crash (num lock, caps lock, scroll lock blinking) or a blank
or garbled screen?

The problems I has on a NV170 where solved by mdk 9.1 (I had a garbled
screen on logout and the only way to recover was to reboot), but as far as I
remember disabling DRI also worked, so if you don't use 3d app it is worth a
try.

Subject: [Linux-sony] Mandrake 9.1 kde crash logout

Anyone ever get the kde logout crash bug fixed on Mandrake 9.1? Just
wondering. I have a PCG-V505BX with acpi on and it has a Radeon M6 LY. I
installed Mandrake myself to see if I could get it to work but no go so far.

Just wondering what is the best way to fix this other than typing reboot ;)
