You can have it automatic so that both will work together or singly.

Personally, I'd recommend using sax2 and simply adding another mouse 
device, but if you prefer to do it by hand, my XF86Config can be found 
at http://www.ottaky.com/vaiosuse.php (bottom of the page) and will get 
you started in the right direction.
