The laptop has Secure boot disabled and set to boot in Legacy mode.  Never
had a problem with it.

Yes, I've seen this page but unfortunnately it deals only with Windows :-(

Already disabled.

Although I hope to solve the puzzle, it isn't a dealbreaker ansa shortly
after buying the T4502 I got hold of an external DVD drive and have
successfully burnt DVDs and installed operating systems from it to the
laptop.
