Is this reflected somewhere in the /sys data?
I could not notice any difference from what it reported a week earlier
when it was still able to charge.

I'm aware of this (non)option, indeed.

That's my current plan, but since I don't actually need this as a "real"
battery, I'd prefer to just keep using that old one. Less waste and
all that.
