[tlinux-users:07485] ACPI power event/anomaly

Greetings all,

I wonder if anyone else has seen this, or know what it
means:

My acpid reports (/var/log/acpid) this event over and
over again, ad infinitum, exactly every 17 seconds. It
is the event for AC power connect/disconnect and
occurs whether I am running on AC or battery.

Fortunately the script "power.sh" sees the correct
state of AC power in
/proc/acpi/ac_adapter/*/state and does nothing
untowards...nevertheless I'd like to know what this
means - battery/computer dying? I looked back in my
log file and this has been happening for a long time,
across other distros and kernels.

My machine is Satellite 2450
Distro: Ubuntu 5.10
