The sync rate doesn't matter and has no meaning for a laptop lcd screen (no cathode ray!) - the card driver will know it's a direct-coupled lcd and will drive it appropriately. All the modeline stuff is irrelevant - there is no blanking pulse at the end of each line of the ray sweep, for example, and no sync pulse. All you have to do is set the params very approximately right - 60Hz will be a fair enough guess for any lcd in order that the driver not be completely put off by your designation. Guess. Peter
