I am no expert regarding notebook bios, so I am very likely not aware of
all things the bios is responsible for on a notebook. The worst thing in
this context I know of, is the fan control, so if the omnibook module
messes with that your device could get permanently damaged by excessive
heat. Other serious effects I can not imagine, but that of course does
not mean that there could not be any more. Perhaps the best thing is to
contact the author of the omnibook module and ask him about possible
complications.
