It depends on your Linux distribution and the desktop you are
running. You need to load the toshiba_acpi module, and then send it
the brightness commands. You can load the module manually using
"modprobe toshiba_acpi" as root. You can then run something like
kloptop to control it. To get the toshiba_acpi module to load at
boot, you may have to edit /etc/modprobe.preload or
/etc/modprobe.conf. You can get more specific directions by asking
on a list specific to your distribution.
