It depends on exactly what you mean by ACPI support. I have an A105
core duo and /proc/acpi is there with all the usual subdirectories
and entries. If I run acpi -V I can see the CPU temps, battery
state, etc. I can also monitor/control CPU speed. But one thing that
can trip you up is that you can only control the speed of CPU0.
Because of the way the processors are built, they have to run at the
same speed, so controlling cpu 0 really controls both processors.

There are also different modes for controlling the CPU speed. I
usually leave it in the auto mode, when speed is based on load, but
you can also manually control the speed, or set the max speed.

The processor cooling mode is the same way. Ether both processors
slow down the same to limit heat, or first the fan runs, and then
the processors slow down if needed.
