OK, I'm sure I have a Toshiba BIOS as there are no Phoenix logos anywhere in
boot up.  I ran the command Mikkel said to run and got these results:

brandon@reznor:~$ sudo /sbin/modprobe toshiba_acpi
FATAL: Error inserting toshiba_acpi
(/lib/modules/2.6.15-25-386/kernel/drivers/acpi/toshiba_acpi.ko): No such
device
