I a similar issue with some Vaio laptops, and I tried using the
2.6.17.1kernel, but no luck so far.
You could try modprobing sdhci and see what dmesg tells you and after that
try modprobing mmc_block to see if the kernel sees your SD partitions; if
you get something such as /dev/mmc* then you are lucky. =)
