I have a laptop Toshiba 14.1 screen Satellite A10.

I am a newcomer to Linux.

I have Suse 9.2.

The reason I asked about the m40x is that it has the same screensize.

Suse wants to know the physical dimensions of the screen in millimeters, horizontal and vertical.

The response has been overwhelming.

But I still don't have the screensize.

No support from Toshiba.

I hope I am not breaking etiquette by answering you directly.

  Here is what I use in an init script:

  As previously mentioned, some fn+key do not work at all:
          fn+Esc (volume control) 
          fn+F2 (zoom) 
          fn+F3 (suspend to ram) 
          fn+F4 (suspend to disk) 
          fn+F6 (reduce lcd brightness) 
          fn+F8 (activate/deactivate wifi chip) 

  fn+F6 actually does reduce lcd brightness, but does not send any
  scancode, whereas fn+F5 does.
