Okay, so I downloaded FC5 and cannot get the monitor to display during
setup. As soon as I elect not to do the media check, The screen is
gibberish. ( I did do the mediacheck and all were okay). Did you have
any difficulties during the install? Thanx,

If I remember right, the BIOS change they are talking about is a
setting to make the SATA drive look like a PATA drive. I am guessing
that some controllers have an emulation mode where they behave like
a PATA controller for backward compatibility. I don't believe we
have that option on the A105. (But I have not looked into it too deep.)

You realy should look at installing a newer version of Linux, as
RedHat 9.0 is rather old by Linux standards, and is not going to
support most of the hardware on your laptop. I am playing with FC5,
and I have most of the hardware working. I still need to get suspend
working correctly, and get the extra laptop keys working...
