Sorry - I have the A105-S4004.

It is also interesting that writing to lcd does set the value that
is read back, but does not set the brightness. Changing the
brightness under Windows does change the 0xA3 value from 7
(brightest) do to 0 (very dim) but it does not seam to change any
other location. But maybe you have to write to a different location
to set it? I still have a lot to learn about the different locations.
