Hi,
download the source of the module following the instructions given in my 
previous mail.
It will create a directory named 'trunk', in this directory, type 'make' 
and then
'sudo make install' and finally 'sudo modprobre omnibook ectype=13".
Then look for files in the newly created /proc/omnibook directory and 
see if you have
a 'lcd' file which allow you to change the LCD brighntess.
