Well, I hacked the driver to use the specific MAC address reported by
Windows, and now the DHCP client reports that the network is down (in the
send and receive functions).  So I think that didn't work either; it's
just not communicating with the card at all without the information it
needs from the EEPROM.

Has anyone had any experience getting Toshiba to replace things that work
fine with Windows but won't work with Linux?  Because that's where I am
now... I bought a Toshiba because it looked like they had a pretty good
Linux track record, and if I'm stuck in Gatesland, I am not going to be
very happy.
