[tlinux-users:08269] [A105 Ubuntu 6.10] Shut down does not turn computer off, suspend and hibernate do.

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2716.

I started my linux experience with Ubuntu Dapper and now upgraded Edgy. No big hassles.

Just one issue bugs me. Shut down does not work properly.

The computer does not turn itself off after Shut Down. Linux shuts down without a problem. The last info is "Will now halt", and then I expect the computer to turn itself off. Instead the fans keep on going, the LCD backlight is on and the it shows a dark brown or black (from session to session different) screen. I have to turn it off manually then.

Strangely enough Hibernate and Suspend turn the fans and screen off without any problem and function very well.

Do you have any idea where I have to look in order to solve this problem? The Ubuntu Forums could not help, unfortunatelly). Anyone with the same problems?
I was planning to file a bug report in Launchpad as well.
